How It affects crop farmers?
When conditions of extreme weather arise, it not only affects the crops, or the regions nearby, it also greatly impacts crop farmers. These farmers are the ones who do all the labour work to provide us with the food we see and buy at a local grocery store. They spend the year, putting their best efforts into making those crops, but when extreme weather strikes their year long efforts go to waste. For example in conditions of a massive thunderstorm, which causes a lot of rain to fall upon the crops, causes the crops to over flood. When the crops are flooded not only do the crops become wasted, too much water can make the perfect conditions for diseases to come and allow slugs and snails to invade the area of the crops. When the water floods the plants the nutrients wash off from the crops, causing them to be vulnerable and causes the plants roots to not develop properly, which in drought conditions can make the plant dry up quickly. When the crops are left sitting in water such as shown in the picture above, due to the lack of oxygen then drown, plants and humans are the same in such matter. When such conditions appear in front of the farmer his/her heart is left broken as their year long hard work had gone to waste.
